Almost 25! Yikes!

Hey guys!

I keep forgetting to post on there, let's just say it's not on my top priorities list. Anywho I've been looking for work for months now and all I've been receiving are short time gigs are it's driving me insane! It's so hard to find a Full Time job. I'm almost 25 and I would like to have income to move out and start my life. So if any of you know some web/graphic design gigs or even need some Photography work done let me know!

My dream is still to work for MTV or Muchmusic... that would make me insanely happy. But for now I am looking for anything that can get me back on my feet.

Not much else to say but GO CANADA GO! I'm so looking forward to Canada VS USA tomorrow. GO FOR GOLD CANADA!

Where the hell have you BEEN?!?!?

Well, nowhere to be honest. I've been stuck at home applying for countless jobs for months now. I actually applied to be a Web Content Coordinator at Muchmusic and I'm hoping I get my chance! I loved working at Muchmusic in the past. It was amazing to be around such a busy enviornment, meet countless bands and just be inspired to want to work everyday. Muchmusic is such a busy place but I grew to loving it and it was sad leaving. Best 2 months of my working career. So i'll be crossing my fingers to get that interview and to land that dream job.

Besides work I've been working on music a lot. I'm still doing cover songs on YouTube for fun. Although I don't have much of a fan base it's still fun to cover songs I enjoy. I'm getting a new MacbookPro for Christmas which will be my #1 source of recording my album. So that means I have to get my booty in gear and write more songs. I'm not planning on selling a ton of records It would just be nice to say 'HEY I recorded my first album!" :)

All in all i'm still waiting for a job opportunity, working on music and trying to enjoy life with a balance of $0 in my bank account.

So i'm 24 years old and an EX smoker. I say ex cause i hardly smoke anymore. Now i remember when I was younger and I would smoke constantly but would never want my parents to find out. So i would smoke near my bedroom window, blow the smoke out the window and put the cigarette butts into a coke can or something.

Unlike myself there are disgusting people in my building who choose to throw their butts in glasses of water right out their bedroom window. Not only is this disgusting it's landing infront of MY bedroom window (it sucks to live on the first floor of ANY building) Is it really that hard to leave the building to smoke? Or get an ashtray and thow out the evidence? Or are you that fucking fat and lazy?

So right now I am more than angry and left a lovely message on facebook to the person I know who lives there. I

All i'm saying is if i see the person doing it... Expect some revenge.

So I didn't make the top 16 for the Muchmusic VJ 2.0 and that's okay! I guess it just wasnt my calling. But i want to thank all my friends and family for rooting for me it means a lot to have such great people backing me up.

Life is on hold right now. I'm still looking for that full-time job so i can move out on my own. I appreciate my parents for letting me kick back in their place until I am on my feet but it's taking a long ass time. I mean it's been over a year now and I am still having trouble landing a full time position. I've been freelancing for over a year now and I can't stand it!

I've been spending the past couple days at home, by myself just trying to figure out what I WANT. I think i've been putting my needs on hold just to convenience others but let me tell you from now on I'm only thinking about me and what can better my situation.

MUCHMUSIC LOOK OVER HERE!

So since voting for the Muchmusic VJ 2.0 is still happening I figured I would make a list of things about myself so you guys can know more about me. Now I must admit this will be VERY random but let's just remember something RANDOM is better than boring :)

P.S Incase you don't want to read the list i've highlighted the facts!

- I am and probably will be the only Hanson fan at muchmusic. I can deal with it.
- You will probably see me at 90% of pop/rock concerts that hit Toronto.
- I have the craziest hair in the world which can only be tamed by lots of Oil and extra hands.
- I am in love with Twitter and my iPhone. So when you see me on my phone I'm most likely on Twtitter.
- I love dancing but I also love BAD dancing. You will definitely see me dance horribly A LOT just for fun.
- I play guitar and sing cover songs on youtube. I do it for fun. I know i'm not the greatest.
- I'm a singer so I tend to hum or sing music out loud a lot. But i'm very quiet when doing so :)
- I love Gwen Stefani. If i could i'd marry her. I really would.
- "LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!" enough said.
- Let me just say that NOT EVERYONE who loves Vampires loves TWILIGHT!!! Although I love twilight :)
- Edgefest is one of my favorite concerts I look forward to every year.
- I am a book worm
- I have a La Senza addiction. I could prove it but I rather keep my "unmentionables' to myself.
- I love plaid.
- I also have a Converse addiciton. If you ever see me anywhere without converse it's because I was told NOT to wear converse. ugh. Even my glasses are made my converse.
- I hate make-up. But i will wear it for occasions but usually you'll never see me in it.
- I am half Jamaican. I know I look spanish or portuguese... whatever. I'm half black half white.
- I love Europe. I think it's beautiful and strange.
- Diet Dr. Pepper FTW.
- Huge Computer dork. I refuse to type like a geek but you will catch the 'lol' and 'lmao' a lot from me.
- I am in love with Ford Mustangs. <3 But i'm starting to love Dodge Chargers.
- You will probably never see me wearing nail polish.
- If i was a billionaire (yes BILLIONAIRE) I would never wear the same socks twice.
- I absolutely LOVE living in Toronto. Every band tours here eventually :)
- I made my first public singing appearance at The Hideout on October 1st. It was awesome!
- I love perfume and have TONS of bottles.
- Concert Junkie! I will go to any show unless i really dislike the band/artist.
- I collect guitar picks.
- I have go through 3 TNA bags a year. But i'm trying to make my 3rd one last.
- I am a MAC and PC kinda girl. But I prefer my macintosh.
- Starburst in the best candy in the world.
- I have one tattoo of a pair of headphones on my left leg. (curteousy of Hanson's underneath album)
- I love taking photos. I currently own a Canon XSi and a Canon Powershot SD780 IS
- Sunflowers are my favourite flower.
- Band merch is a necessity
- I never throw out clothes... well unless they are RUINED! I always donate :)
- I graduated Highschool with the Grade 12 Music Award.
- I rather be freezing than sweating.
- I have a phobia of balloons
- I watch The Hills religiously
- Entourage is the best show on TV right now.
- I play The Sims. Why? Cause that game is amazing.
- I love scented candles but only from Partylite.
- I sing loudly and dance like i'm crazy in my car. Prepare to be embarrassed.
- I still buy CDs and probably always will.

If i think of anything else i'll add it in!! Hope you learned a lot about me!

So i finally entered the Muchmusic VJ 2.0 Search. I made a lil video! Wanna see? of course you do silly!!! Click on the image to vote for me as well as check out the video I made!

So i'm pretty excited! A lot of my friends were telling me to go for it and how I would make a great VJ so there ya have it folks I did it!

I'm not gonna lie i'm super nervous! Just to be apart of the 16 finalists would be mind blowing!!

Why you so Obsessed...?

I'll be honest I love all kinda of music. But the feud over Mariah and Eminem is insane. I'm taking Mariah's side. Why? Cause it's Mariah, end of story haha.

Anyways I've been thinking a lot about the Muchmusic VJ auditions. I have until September 28th to post a video for my entry and I'm out of ideas, i'm just drawing a BLANK! So that's my mission in the next week or so to get a video done. I would probably just DIE if i became a finalist.

I love Muchmusic, every I know knows I would love to work there again (I was a intern for muchmusic.com). But to be a VJ, get to travel around Canada would be a dream. *crosses fingers*

Anywho I'm heading back to Organic next week for only a week but hey a job is a job right? ;)

I'm Just a Girl...

So studio time with 3 former members of the band Wrekked have been cancelled! Booo! But that's okay there is always next week! I am told that I'll be covering 'Just a Girl' and 'Sunday Morning' by No Doubt with the guys. It shall be fun! And i will keep updating with when we will perform in Toronto :)

Today i'm taking out Conrad for his birthday. I told him he could go anywhere and he chose Red Lobster. *puke* I hate fish. But i'll deal with it cause it's about HIM not ME! lol. So looking forward to seeing what's on their menu besides little critters.

I really want to redo the Dream Makers site, it's driving me crazy just looking at it. It was done very quickly and not very well TBH. But hey, at least it's up there! That reminds me I just paid a trillion dollars to keep my website up and going. I can't WAIT till I have a full-time job so I can finally be settled somewhere and not have to worry about my stupid Portfolio for jobs.

Not much else to cover, it's Wednesday. That means the weekend is almost here. Thank GOD.

Another Day in Hell? - Yay Muchmusic!

Yesterday was completely dreadful! I dislike being at a job where there is NO work to do!! Although it's great to have free time but it's completely absurd that I have to sit here for 8.5 hours and slowly watch the time pass. Don't get me wrong I love working where I am but I need something a little more challenging on my part.

Anyway's on to the good news. So i'm hanging out at Youtube.com cause I have my own music channel... go check it out!! (AshlenaMusic) and I happen to pass by Muchmusic's official youtube page and they are conducting a MUCHMUSIC VJ SEARCH! So I'm thinking Ah why the hell not I'll enter! I figure If i can win countless random contests where I make crazy youtube videos then making one for the VJ Search should be peachy keen right? WRONG. I have no idea what I'm going to say, do or even WEAR! So that's my mission for the next couple of days. Come up with interesting ways to make a small video of myself showing off my key talents. Music Knowledge, Singing, Playing Guitar, Being a concert Junkie and hey I'll be the only VJ who is obsessed with cheesy pop music. Muhahaha

Fell in love with the girl at the rock show...

Last night was amazing. Headed to the Molson Amphitheater for the best Blink 182 show I've ever seen... Well it's the only Blink 182 show i've ever seen but that's besides the point! Not only did I get to hear some of the best Blink tunes, Weezer rocked out as well. I'm not a HUGE weezer fan but I must say the do put on a good show.

During Weezer's finale, I was in line for at least 30 minutes for the merch table. You can't go to a Blink 182 show without MERCHANDISE! I picked up a black blink 182 hoodie and got an O-SO GREAT DEAL on BLink 182 'Feelin This' Undies! Rock on!

All-in-all amazing show. The guys were great performers. Travis' drum solo where he was basically flying through the air was unbelievable! I am truly honoured that I was able to see Blink 182 live. With the band breaking up, to doing other projects, then the tragic news of Travis' plane crash it was a little overwhelming to think it would be impossible for them to get back together.

But they are back, I got to see them live and I'm one happy camper!
